Ashes & Snow
Well, actually, it’s him speaking at TED, at one of their many idea symposiums. The 10 minute segment of his new project Ashes & Snow, what he calls his Global Bestiary, is truly amazing footage, like still photos that evolve before your eyes. The footage really communicates the idea that man living in harmony with the animals of this planet is breathtaking. Greanted, much of the footage uses models, talented underwater dancers. TED’s a pretty amazing conference as well, with all kinds of really interesting topics being talked about.

Poetography

Yes, I made that word up, but it seems to capture the essence of what makes Scott Mutter’s photomontages so compelling. Mind you, his is classic photomontage, the combination of two or more film negatives exposed on paper to create surreal, or as he calls it, “surrational”, expressions of the world we live in. I’ve owned his book “Surrational Images” for years now and often get lost in its pages. Please, go check out his site by clicking the photo and peruse these amazing images.
